i guess this isnt my proud purchase of this week, more like last week, but i'm still excited

so eyeshadows and lipglosses aren't the most exciting thing i've ever bought, but i'm still pretty happy because i've been watching a ridiculous amount of youtube tutorials on how to do makeup, so i'm pretty sure i'm gonna look like lady gaga by wednesday. and sidenote, there are youtube tutorials on how to do everything ever. it's scary and amazing.

The Old Switcheroo

So, I finished the cape. But wait, you say, wasn't this supposed to be a different pattern? Very observant, grasshopper. When I went to the local fabric store to buy silk with which to line the yet-to-be-made cape, I came across this design and it felt right.

The best thing about the cape is that it's like a snuggie but I don't feel ashamed to wear it outside of the apartment.

Oh yeah, and HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Revisiting My Visit

My grandparents' house...
and the road beyond. Every morning, we were woken up by the rooster's crowing (which began between 3:30 and 4).
Often, my grandpa would go outside and sit for 10 minutes (this morning, with my shadow to accompany him) to get his daily dose of Vitamin D after he had his morning cup of coffee (Jimm's 5 in 1 that not only has coffee, cream, and aspartame instead of sugar, but also contains ginseng and agaricus mushroom! Yum?).
My dad found this old bike in the shed and fixed it up...
so he could go joyriding!

Bring On Round 2 (Me v. Sleep)

Right when I finally get used to the 12-hour time difference between Virginia and the Philippines, I get shipped back. Hmmph. So before jetlag comes and attacks me once again, I'll throw out a couple of pictures. I'll try to post about my trip tomorrow!

It was sad to leave, but it's also good to be back.

there's always next year

happy halloween! work and teeth pain may have put a damper on any attempt to get wild and crazy tonight, but i still support any and all festivities, which is why i carried my little tuckus to the byrd the other night when i got word that dressing up was going on. if i can't partake in much of the halloween spirit, i will still watch while others do, all while sippin on a pumpkin milkshake. et voila, my ladies in all their costumed glory. total babez.

i am a fan of most holidays, and typically i partake in a bit of the halloween festivities; dressing up, candy consumption, etc. but this year work has taken over, and as for this recent root canal, the throbbing pain is warding off any kinds of sugar intake. so in an attempt to keep up at least a little of my holiday spirit, i am trying to figure out a 'mini' costume for work tomorrow. mini meaning that technically i'm not allowed to wear a costume at work but i think if i fly under the radar, work and i can reach a happy medium. but if all else fails, i do have some cobweb tights i can throw on, but i'm seriously brainstorming for ideas. help!
