bayou

The other night I had decided to be a homebody and tuck myself away into a corner of my apartment armed only with some tea, homemade curry, and Jeremy Love's Bayou, which blew my mind. The story, which the author describes as "a southern fried odyssey," is intense and haunting and the drawings are shockingly beautiful. I'm not going to go into too much detail, but I highly, highly recommend this graphic novel. If you click on the link above, you can read the first of the three volumes for free on-line (the other two haven't been completed yet, but I'm already antsy for them).

Oh, and my tea was good and the curry was nice and spicy.
